What is the “summer slide”?
Learning loss that students can experience when out of school; students can lose over 20% of their school-year gains in reading!
How do you prevent the “summer slide”?
READ! READ! READ! Students who read at least six books during the summer either maintained or improved their reading skills! (Source: What is Summer Slide and How Can We Help Prevent It).
